I like this one! It's very funny! I would like to a picture of this on my bedroom door, because it will say it for me!

In Andro Wekua's exhibit "Get out of my Room" i understood why he made the sex of the child difficult to determine. It can show how he/she is seeking attention by acting out and being different. I like this element in Wekua's exhibit because it is easy for me to relate to it and anyone to relate for that matter. We have all tried to get attention for ourselves every now and then. It is just all about how we chose to seek attention. I relate this to Fences by August Wilson because it seems that Corey always is trying to keep his Dad's attention on how well Corey is doing in football. He is such a standout player that a coach even comes to talk to him about playing in college.

I seemed to have interpreted this piece differently than most. As soon as I walked in and viewed the child's face, I immediately made the connection that this child in the room was abused. As I continued to view the room, I pondered its title, and the unique aspects of the child. I began to begin thinking that this Boy in the room had been sexually abused by his father. (I infered this because of the Blunt title "Get Out of My Room", the eye patches on his eyes,((wanting to block the entire world out)) and the fact that the boy had on no pants.) I could see by the makeup on his face and the paint on his nails that he was struggling with some gender issue. Could this be an analogy to the turmiol in the artist's own country? Georgia struggling to find an independent identity or the identity that is forced apon them by Russia, similar to the child's struggle for a sexual identity that is his own, and not the one forced apon him by his father.

In this piece of art, the boy is wearing make-up and nail polish. I think that it is a girl trapped in a boys body and he's just afraid to fully express who he really is on the inside. So he is going to be who he wants to be, in his room where nobody can judge him.

i noticed that his legs were very, very thin and he had bruises on his face. this indicated to me that he was maybe abused by family and maybe they starved him. i saw that he had makeup and nail polish on his lips and nails-- which said that he strived to be different.
the pictures on the wall showed different horrific scenes of screaming and staring into space.

The gender is hard to deteremine but after lookign at the legs and the very girlish features of the body, i see that it is probably a struggling lesbian around maybe 12 or 13. The shirt is big as if it was stolen from her father or as if it was a dress formign into a button down man's shirt. She's growing into it. and the eye patch and bruises on the face because she doesn't want to see society that will do nothign more than criticize. So like someone said above, she fills safe in her room away from everything where she can relax and just be her. the fact that the room is empty can also play that she is lost in her emotions and it could be a portrait of her thoughts.
