A text written by Ghostwriter David Allsop, bringing to life the fictional character Alan Smithee, a pseudonym used between 1968 and 1999 by cinema directors who wanted to disassociate themselves from a film for which they no longer wanted credit. The text that was originally commissioned by the artist Mario Garcia Torres, to be used in the performance "I am not a flopper or..." 2007, but ultimately unsettled, unpublished and unwanted, is screen printed in black ink, directly onto a wall of the gallery, that is then immediately re-plastered with a surface skim. The wall is left the color of the plaster. The exclusive legal rights of his text presently belong to Ryan Gander.
