HELP US!!
Take a small Life on Mars web site survey and help us answer the big
questions about direction for our future web-based projects.
Thursday nights, the museum is open late (with 2-for-one admission to boot) – and tonight Attack Theatre will present Remainder, Phase One, the first installment of an evolving three-part work inspired by Life on Mars.
The event begins at 6pm with a gallery discussion led by the dancers about the works in the exhibition that inspired their movement sequences – including Marisa Merz’s Untitled (Living Sculpture), 1966; Matthew Monahan’s Youth Fenced In, 2008; Bruce Conner’s Untitled (Angel), 1975; Friedrich Kunath’s Untitled, 2007/2008; and Richard Hughes’ The Aura of a Savage Man, 2008.
From these works the dancers derived poetic phrases – “malleable strength”, "fragile transcendence”, “waves of decay” – that will then be presented in a synthesized dance performance in the in the Sculpture Court (rain location: Carnegie Lecture Hall).
After the performance, videos will be posted in the Visual/Audio Library the audience is encouraged to respond on the Life on Mars web site.
