From the South:
(Brentwood, Pleasant Hills, Mt. Lebanon, Uniontown, or Greentree)
Take I-79 North to I-279 toward Pittsburgh, through the Fort Pitt Tunnels. Follow signs for I-376 East--Monroeville exit. Follow I-376 to the Forbes Avenue/Oakland Exit 2A. Follow Forbes Avenue past the University of Pittsburgh and the Cathedral of Learning to the light at the intersection of Forbes Avenue and South Craig Street. Turn right into our six-level parking garage, adjacent to the Carnegie Museums and Library.

(From the South Hills, Route 51 and West Liberty Avenue)
Traffic from the South Hills crossing the Liberty Bridge should continue to the Crosstown Boulevard (I-579). Exit at Bigelow Boulevard and continue on the boulevard following the signs to Oakland and South Craig Street. South Craig Street will end at the museums' parking lot and six-level parking garage.

From the North: 
(Butler, Hampton, Richland, McCandless, New Castle, Ellwood City, Erie or Wexford)
Take Interstate 79 South to I-279 South (also known as the Parkway North). Follow I-279 South to Exit 6A. This will take you to I-376 East, heading toward Monroeville (also known as the Parkway East). Exit I-376 at Exit 2A, Forbes Avenue/Oakland. Follow Forbes Avenue past the University of Pittsburgh and the Cathedral of Learning to the light at the intersection of Forbes Avenue and South Craig Street. Turn right into our six-level parking garage, adjacent to the Carnegie Museums and Library.

From the East:
(Monroeville, Irwin, Penn Hills or Greensburg)
Major construction is underway on the Parkway East through 2008. Please visit OTMA for the latest in construction updates and detours.
Take US 22W and merge onto I-376 West toward Pittsburgh. Cars traveling the turnpike, should take Exit 57 toward Pittsburgh I-376.  Follow I-376 to Exit 3B, Oakland/Bates Street. Follow Bates Street until it ends at Bouquet Street. Turn left onto Bouquet Street, then turn right onto Forbes Avenue and continue to the intersection of Forbes and South Craig St. Turn right into our 6-level parking garage.  OR FOLLOW SUGGESTED DETOURS. 

From the West: 
(Ohio, West Virginia, Pittsburgh International Airport, Coraopolis, Sewickley, or Moon Township)
From Route 60 to Route 22/30 East, and continue to the merge with I-279. Follow I-279 through the Fort Pitt Tunnels. Follow signs for I-376 East/Monroeville to Exit 2A, Forbes Avenue/Oakland. Follow Forbes Avenue past the University of Pittsburgh and the Cathedral of Learning to the light at the intersection of Forbes Avenue and South Craig Street. From the Pennsylvania Turnpike I-76, take Exit 28 Cranberry, and follow I-79 to I-279 South. Follow I-279 South to Exit 6A, I-376 East. Follow signs for I-376 East/Monroeville to Exit 2A, Forbes Avenue/Oakland. Follow Forbes Avenue past the University of Pittsburgh and the Cathedral of Learning to the light at the intersection of Forbes Avenue and South Craig Street. Turn right into our 6-level parking garage, adjacent to the Carnegie Museums and Library.

From Downtown
DO NOT TAKE The Boulevard of the Allies. You will encounter construction delays!
Take Grant Street onto the Parkway East (I-376 toward Monroeville). Take the Parkway East to Oakland/Exit 2B, and follow the exit to Forbes Avenue. Follow Forbes Avenue past the University of Pittsburgh and the Cathedral of Learning to the light at the intersection of Forbes Avenue and South Craig Street. Turn right into our six-level parking garage, adjacent to the Carnegie Museums and Library.

Public Transportation
Bus routes 61A, B, and C and 67A, C, E, F, and J stop directly in front of the museum on Forbes Avenue. Routes 71B, C, and D stop one block north of the museum at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and South Craig Street. Bus 54C stops on South Craig Street between Forbes Avenue and Fifth Avenue.
