Well, I agree with this in depth, yet humerous podcast. The piece looks like a bird's-eye veiw of a city. When you look at it from far away, it looks like a large city. The places where he pulled the rope off looks like streets. The various pieces of comic books look like the top of a building.

I agree with this group because I also believe that the words like attack, vicious, and bam represent other things that happened in that city. I also agree that this piece also could represent google earth due to how it looks like you are high above the city and can see everything below. I also think that this connects with the international title "Life on Mars" because it shows how other life forms could be looking down on us just as well as we can look down upon ourselves.

After I listened to John, Amy, and Julie's ideas and thoughts about the piece titled "A truly Rich Man," a few of my own feelings changed. When I initially looked at this artwork I did see a city, as they talked about, however I did not make as many connections as they all did. I really like how Amy said that the piece looked like graffiti, I thought that idea truly did represent a city, along with all the commotion that is in this piece of artwork. I believe that Amy, Julie, and John all made tremendous contributions and had amazing insights on what this piece was about. I think that they really captured the emotion that Mark Bradford was trying to convey. I agree with all of the ideas that they discussed, such as having a bird's eye view and having the rope being roads within someone's life. I feel that all three of them went into great depth and saw things in the piece that I intially missed. I believe that these three did a remarkable job at looking deep into "A Truly Rich Man."

I agree. I had many of the same views on this piece. I thought that the words were a huge part of this piece of artwork. I believe the words like "bam and attack" describe things that might go on in a city. I believe that artist was trying to make his artwork prove a point about violence in cities. I liked how the artwork used comics. The artwork grabbed my attention from afar and brought me in closer.

I agree. It definitely looks like the view of a city from the sky. It also makes sense because of Mark's background, that he would create something like this. I also agree with Amy that the way he made it, does look like graffiti tieing into the whole city theme.
