I agree with your ideas about it looking like a city. I particularly liked your insight that the various colors and comics messages might make one reflect different neighborhoods and heritages found in them. This makes me think even more about the satellite views of Pittsburgh and our rich ethnic mosaic. I wonder: Does it look like Pittsburgh or does it just like this to Pittsburghers?

I agree with you, I think Mark Bradford's Across 110th Street was a really creative piece. The way he used the different materials was amazing. I particularly liked the effect the string lines had on the artwork. However when I viewed this painting I thought that the comics represented different events that occured in that city, I did not think of the idea that they represented the different heritages of the city. After I heard you say that, I invisioned that idea and I thought it fit well. This was one of my favorite pieces and you helped me understand it better.
