While I was trying to think about how I would help someone relate to a contemporary work of art they do not understand (as this could be a situation I come across being apart of the University Docent Training Program), I realized the theme to this show has almost answered it for me. While many of the artists express feelings of alienation in this modernizing world, the show has come to be a study on the human condition today. This is something that everyone can relate to!! Maybe this was obvious to some, but I though it can be a great way for people who feel intimidated by a work or an artist to find a way to bring it (or him or her) down to a humanizing and understandable level... and hopefully even to a level they can relate to. Does that make sense to anyone else?
