I've been training to be a University Docent for the International for some time now. I am extremely excited for this international since it will be my first. I am completely new to the city of Pittsburgh and being able to take part in this event that has been here since 1896 is very very exciting. I've been studying up on the artists that will be showing at the international and I must say I have seen some very interesting things that I think most people will be amazed by.
Seeing some of the artwork slowly going up in the lobby of the museum is a bit overwhelming. The large windows in the front entrance of the museum has the 'life on mars' logo going up and I think that will bring a lot of attention. I keep telling all my friends to come check out the website and visit once the international opens. I cannot wait to see the reactions of everyone because I know I was both amazed and intrigued by what I've seen so far.
It really makes me think about life on mars and life beyond just another planet. Also it makes me think how us humans have created another world in our world and making the move over to this cyber/new tech world. Looking in as normal human and Looking out as a cyber/new world person, I am able to see how there is life out there from the everyday world we live in and see. There are many aspects of our world that is a bit alien to us, all unique to each person yet universal. well thats what I think the theme means to me.
In the end of the day it only matters to the viewers right???
