Life on Mars has inspired students and teachers alike at Bethel Park High School. Our creative writing classes, English 10 Honors literature classes, and art classes have attended. We've extended our inquiry into the exhibition with our classroom blog by writing about our experiences, writing art-inspired poems, and sending out audio podcasts. As art students create art in response to the Carnegie International, we'll post those as well.
Not only has the classroom blog been a platform for publishing our work, but also as comments grow, our students' dialogues about the art and inherent themes and issue also develop.
Whether you are able to visit Life on Mars in the galleries or are visiting through the website, I encourage you to sign up with your students for a classroom blog and continue to explore the art and inspire young writers and artists. Below is a video that highlights our adventures in online writing with Life on Mars.

Wow! Mr. Youngs, I must say that you did an absolutely excellent job on this video. I loved the way you put pictures of us working at the museum, along with pictures from us at school. The video really does show what "Life on Mars" is truly like. The video shows the artwork at the museum as well as some of our poems and works that we did about the exhibit. Mr. Youngs went above and beyond, I really thought that this video was amazing. The video caught my attention right from the beginning and it kept my interest all the way until the end. If I were a teacher at another school this viedo would give me a lot of useful information about the exhibit and how rewarding the trip really is. I personally loved this video, it was amazing and fascinating, and it brought back some really great memories. Good job, Mr. Youngs, you could not have done a better job.
