When I originally heard the title of the International I immediately thought David Bowie. For the past few days I've been listening to the song Life on Mars and trying to interpret the lyrics. I think the song is about how people are more empathic and oblivious to the world around them. We are literally strangers in our own world and we are searching to find a new life, a more meaningful life than just the monotonous reality we live in.
So I got to thinking about another song that shares a similar idea and would fit right in with the theme of the International, Bjork's Earth Intruders. Check out the entire interview with Bjork and here are the lyrics to the song.
