This post is a response to Tyler's Bjork and Bowie post :-)
I really liked the relation to the Bjork video, and after reading your post a few days ago, thought of it again when I saw Linkin Park's new video for their song "Leave Out All The Rest." They lyrics are kind of about human insecurity/weakness in my opinion, and I found it intriguing that even though their video mentions nothing of outer space, they chose space as the setting of their video. It instantly made me think of the international's title: Life On Mars and I started thinking about the reasons why they might have chosen to make their video revolve around space and how it related to their lyrics-- just as we've discussed the internation's relation to its title and the idea of human weakness.
Selection from the lyrics:
I'm strong on the surface Not all the way through I've never been perfect But neither have you So if you're asking me I want you to know When my time comes Forget the wrong that i've done Help me leave behind some Reasons to be missed Don't resent me And when you're feeling empty Keep me in your memory Leave out all the rest Video:
