David Shrigley's "I'm Dead" reminds me of a PETA advertisement. It is terrible to watch videos on the PETA website about the making of fur coats. But their ads are always so gloom and doom. I think if they would use ads that had a cat that was holding a sign saying "I'm Dead" instead of showing dying animals and making a logo saying fur is dead, they might draw more attention to their cause.

Nice observation. It's more humorous than their usual ads that are graphic "doom and gloom" as you put it, but it does get the point across. Their ads are always thought provoking.
